Colossians 3:16 is the foundation for Glasgow Baptist’s Worship Ministry:
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
In our worship services, you will typically find us reading from the Psalms, singing new arrangements of traditional hymns and contemporary hymns along with classic and new worship songs.
We have a Praise Band, a Praise Team and a Worship Choir that leads us in worship each week.
Our Praise Band is usually composed of piano, keyboard, guitar and drums.
Our Praise Team has a leadership role in worship and they are typically drawn from the Worship Choir by audition and are church members of Glasgow Baptist Church. We also have a pipe organ and a handbell choir that we use from time to time in worship.
The Worship Choir is open to anyone 6th grade and up. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings following the Pastor's Bible Study. The choir leads in worship and will provide an anthem most Sundays from the choir loft. The Worship Choir usually presents special programs at Easter and Christmas. If you are interested in singing with us, feel free to join us on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Choir Room 105, which is across from the church office.
Most people in the Music Ministry will wear business casual clothes in worship services and some guys will wear a tie.
Church membership at GBC is not required for any choir or music group (except the Praise Team) but a commitment to Christ and a heart for worship are required.
